When we were told we were invited along to a Samsung VIP party to celebrate the launch of their new Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, we had no idea quite how VIP it would be...
The launch took place inside London's swish One Mayfair venue, near Selfridges. After we'd been given a glass of champers and scoffed a mini burger we settled in to watch the delectable Vernon Kay do what he does best. Vern took to the stage wearing an interesting outfit consisting of a shiny tight black shirt, jeans and a snooker player-style waistcoat complete with pocket watch. Kay chatted about the new gadget before bringing Kelly Brook and Noel Clarke on stage who both took turns in telling the gathered audience of techies, gadget geeks and us how to use the Galaxy Note tablet. Not a bad way to get a lesson in gadgetry, right?
Once Brook and Clarke had vacated the stage we barely had time to run to the loo before several amazing Olympians trooped out to the roaring crown. Zara Phillips was joined by Victoria Pendleton (who got her sexy-on in a bodycon gold frock and heels), Laura Trott, Jason Kenny and Alex Gregory on stage where they proudly showed off their glittering Olympic medals.
Did we scream and cry? Absolutely. As did the rest of the crowd. It seems we're not quite over Olympic fever just yet...
After the athletic legends left an orange-clad Eliza Doolittle took to the decks to get the crowd in a dancing mood. We passed Caggie Dunlop on the stairs on the way up to have a bit of fresh air (or cigarette). The ex-MIC star was rocking a Bianca Jagger-style white trouser suit and lilac heels while pal Millie Mackintosh went for a dazzling dress and silver strappies. They even brought a cute little puppy along!
Sunday Girl and Zara Taylor brought their super-stylish DJ skills to the decks after Eliza, playing their fabulous Ooh La La set which got everyone up and dancing.
Backstage Kelly Brook, Mark Wright and designer Matthew Williamson had a play with the gadgets while Denise Van Outen and Louise Roe had a natter looking stylish in their party frocks.
If we thought the evening was over, we were wrong. For the big finale actual Kylie Minogue was introduced to the crowd!! The petite singer made her entrance wearing a giant ball gown construction covered in, you guessed it, Samsung Galaxy Note tablets! Oh those gadget people are clever, aren’t they?
Kylie, wearing a cute pink Dolce & Gabbana number, performed All the Lovers and retro hit Locomotion to the now ecstatic crowd.
