Despite going through one of the most publicised divorces in recent history, it looks like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will both take their daughter Suri, 6, to her first day at school.
The high-profile couple signed a divorce settlement in June, with Katie getting primary custody of Suri.
But now the pair have put their differences aside to make Suri’s important day as special as possible.
Katie has enrolled Suri into New York's Convent of the Sacred Heart School, whose former pupils include Lady Gaga and Paris Hilton.
"Tom has been filming his latest movie in London but has made plans to be in New York for Suri's first day of school, which will be after Labour Day,” a source told RadarOnline.
The source added: "Tom and Katie have been speaking on the telephone regarding Suri and Katie has been very supportive of Tom wanting to be there when Suri goes to her new school for the first time.”
Tom and Suri
Despite Katie have primary custody of their little girl, Tom has significant access too and has been spending lots of time with the youngster.
Tom and Suri were recently snapped at Disneyland having a whale of a time together.
“It's a big moment in Suri's life and Katie wants Tom to be a part of that,” the inside source said.
“Of course, there will be security concerns and Tom doesn't want to disrupt other parents and students at the school with his presence, which means he very well could slip in and out via a back entrance.
The most important thing to both Tom and Katie is putting their little one first.
“Katie doesn't want Suri to suffer because of their divorce and both parents are truly putting the needs of their little girl ahead of their own feelings.”
