Sad-eyebrowed cage fighter Alex Reid had one of his classical good ideas this week when, in the midst of about the most public break-up ever with new mum Chantelle Houghton, Alex went and looked at some Ferraris. Those traditionally baby-friendly cars, yes.
A Ferrari
Alex was spotted at Sparks in West London, the kind of luxury car dealership that… well, the kind of place that sells Ferraris. You get it.
According to onlookers, Alex walked around a black Ferrari 458 a few times, tried to ascertain exactly what it was he was looking at, and then had a little sit down inside it.
Ferrari 458 facts: a Ferrari 458 costs £170,000 and is not especially practical for a new dad. It is a two-seater vehicle with a top speed of about 202mph. It is not especially easy to operate in heels while clumsily dressed as a woman. Alex Reid is thinking of buying one.
None of this especially adds up to 'being a good idea'.

Alex has had a tough few months, what with trying to figure out a name for his new baby (the couple eventually settled on 'Dolly'), being groped by a drag queen and then breaking up with Chantelle. He also got a little bit arrested earlier this month, after busting into the home he once shared with his former partner.

"I was starving so went to make myself a ham and cheese sandwich and a cup of tea," said Alex. This is actually how he remembered it happening. "All of a sudden there were two policemen standing there. Then six more turned up and told me they were going to have to arrest me. I was in my pyjamas!" This man is going to buy a Ferrari.
We wish Alex well with his Ferrari, because it's either going to be just the £170,000 tonic he needs to turn this year around or he's going to forget where he parked it and get arrested in his pyjamas again. Could go either way.
