Though she’s got a bit of a raspy voice, we were never quite under any illusions that Amelia Lily was a “rock chick”. But, just in case we were, The X Factor alumnus has said that she’s into a whole array of different musical styles.
She said: “I’m not just a rock chick singer, and that’s what I wanted the public to see when I started bringing my own music out.”
“I wanted people to see that my passion is towards all different types of music, whether it’s dance, pop, rock, house, whatever.
Speaking to Entertainmentwise, she added: “And I wanted to show that in my album, and that’s what I like about my single, that it’s got a mixture in there.”
This year’s X Factor has been pretty light on the arguments – between the judges, at least. But we wonder what Nicole Scherzinger’s got to say about Amelia Lilly, who made a sly dig at her in an interview.
She said that she thinks Nicole is a “great choice” to replace her mentor, Kelly Rowland, and that this is down to Nicole’s immense, lengthy experience of being in the music biz for so loooooong. She said: “she’s been around for god knows how many years!”
It must have been made in good faith, though, as she went on to big up Nicole for putting One Direction together. She's got to be young at heart to make every 14-year-old girl's dream boyband.
Amelia respects Nicole's experience
And even though there was talk of backstage bullying last year between Misha B and Amelia, she’s still in touch with the Home Run singer, as well as Wings stars Little Mix: “I still pretty much talk to everyone."
"Last week I spoke to Misha and Little Mix, they’d heard my song on the radio and they text me like ‘I love your song and we’re so proud of you’ and vice versa basically.
“So it’s nice to still be able to talk to them because we went through the same journey.”
Awww. Well, if she's not rock chick, maybe she's emo?
