Kate Hudson has revealed how during the birth of her first child, her mum, Goldie Hawn told her to try and visualise her, erm, lady garden, as a flower coming into bloom.
We bet that went down a treat
A walk in the garden…
Far from having an easy birth, the 33-year-old was in labour for over 18 hours with her son Bingham last July. Luckily however, Goldie was on hand to help guide her through – although her advice was a little on the odd side.
"She brings a magnolia flower. And she sort of starts to do these visualisations with me. And she's going, 'Imagine your va-jay-jay as a large magnolia flower blossoming.'”
Bring her gas and air you mad woman.

Talking to Ellen DeGeneres about her experience, the actress made the experience sound like a very odd dream, with Goldie providing much of the eccentricity.
“My mum's going to the doctor, 'that's not normal. It that normal?' It really was a Woody Allen film.”
A very strange Woody Allen film.
Wacky births
But Kate’s not the first celeb to have a surreal birthing experience.
Jessica Alba gave birth to her first child using ‘hypnobirthing’ and said afterwards: “It was really Zen. It was amazing. The labour was more like meditation. I did yoga breathing. I was focused.”
It sounds like a lot of effort, Jess.
Giselle Bundchen had a go at yoga-birthing too.
“I did yoga and meditation, so I managed to have a very tranquil birth at home. It didn't hurt in the slightest. The whole time my mind was focused in each contraction on the thought ‘my baby is closer to coming out.'"
So, celebs are immune to pain. Shame Kate isn’t immune to her mum’s insane advice.
