Mere days after DJ Scott Mills said Madonna is no longer relevant to a young audience, she’s further lost supporters after claiming president Obama is a black Muslim.
Speaking at her tour’s stint in Washington D.C., she gave a speech about politics. Starting off with a rant about Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, both people who campaigned for freedom and were killed. She then shouted about how excited she is to have an African American in the White House. All fair, really.
She spoke up for people “who are different, unconventional and believe what they want to believe” then asked all the people in the crowd to vote for Obama during the upcoming elections.
Which, again, is all fair. Not every pop star would be that outspoken, but this is the Madonna we know and love, right? And loads of cool pop stars like Beyonce and Jay Z support Obama.
Right…she then squealed about how excited she is that “we have a black Muslim in the White House!”
Got her facts wrong
Which is pretty controversial, considering Barack Obama isn’t a Muslim and his opponents have tried to discredit him by suggesting that he is (not that it’s a bad thing, they’re just idiots).
Earlier during the gig, she revealed a giant “OBAMA” scrawled on her back, in the same way she put “PUSSY RIOT” on her back when she performed in Russia earlier this year.
