This morning we woke up to the news that Louis Smith had a girlfriend. And not just any girlfriend – a totally gorgeous one.

The Olympic gymnast, who’s currently starring in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, was reported to be dating gorgeous brunette Chantelle Hole.

But both Louis and Chantelle have taken to Twitter to deny the rumours.

Phew.

Louis tweeted this morning: “Love tabloid chat woke up 2 find out in the paper I got a girlfriend overnight. I'm defo still single unless there's something I don't know!”

And Chantelle took to the social networking site last night to deny the claims: “Oh wow really enjoy finding out through the papers I have a boyfriend. #hmmm”

The silver medallist met hairdresser Chantelle in Marbella, Spain this summer. The 24-year-old was taking a well-deserved break after London 2012.

Despite meeting Chantelle on his summer break, it looked like this was more than just a holiday romance. Louis took Chantelle to a fancy bash at London's Proud Galleries on Wednesday night to celebrate his Olympic triumph, and the couple were said to be ‘inseparable’ now, according to The People newspaper.

A source told the newspaper: “Since the Olympics, girls have been throwing themselves at Louis. Most just want their picture taken with him and he wasn't interested in anyone else.

“But when he met Chantelle she didn't even know who he was and Louis was completely infatuated with her. As soon as they spoke they just clicked and they have been inseparable ever since.

“They spent most of the holiday on nights out together.

Louis posted a couple of photographs of him and Chantelle during their holiday, and captioned one: “Me and the gorgeous @chantellehole #marbs.”

So for now, it looks like Louis is single – but we’re guessing he won’t be for long…
