We all know birthday parties can get out of hand sometimes – your mum has one-too-many and starts dancing on the bar; your auntie Joan has a spat with cousin Beryl; your best mate slips on a party popper. You know, the usual stuff…
But we don’t think we’ve ever set ourselves on fire.
Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley was celebrating her 29th birthday when she leaned too close to the candles on her cake and set her hair alight.

Luckily for the blonde actress, her co-star Antony Cotton was on hand to extinguish the flames.
Phew.
The actor and former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star was quick to tweet about the exciting events.
“Birthday update: @Cath_Tyldesley has just set her hair on fire. Actual fire. I put it out but the #privateroom smells of burning bush...”
He then posted a picture of Catherine, who plays Eva Price in Corrie, with her cake just before her locks caught alight.
“This is the moment just before the weave went up...” Antony captioned the photo.
Clearly not too embarrassed by the whole thing, Catherine also tweeted about the birthday drama.
This is what Catherine usually looks like, when she's not on fire
“Can't believe my hair caught fire on my birthday cake! God damn you Hairspray!”
She also tweeted: “So even though I set my hair on fire ...the celebrations of leaving the womb all those years ago have been wonderful!”
Beautifully put…
