Ronan Keating has poured his heart out to Piers Morgan about his regret over the affair that cost him his marriage. This is the first time the Boyzone singer has spoken out in depth about the affair, two and a half years ago.
Heartbreak
The singer’s indiscretion with backing dancer Francine Cornell came to light in 2010, supposedly when Ronan’s wife, Yvonne found messages on a phone from the dancer. The affair is thought to have gone on for seven months.
Talking about the revelation – the 37-year-old admitted that he caused enormous heartache to his now ex wife.
“The pain that I caused Yvonne has been devastating. I was incredibly selfish, totally ignored what could happen. I regret what I did."

Soul searching
The Fires singer also revealed that he saw a shrink to attempt to understand his “selfish” actions.
“My psychiatrist gave me a few reasons for why I possibly did what I did, but again they’re excuses. So really you’ve just go to, you made a decision, you’ve got a choice.”
The couple parted in late 2011 after realising that they would not be able to make their marriage work. Keating however says that he and Yvonne still have a close relationship, despite knowing that they will never be together again.
“She still is an incredible woman, we loved each other, we had three incredible children together. Of course I still love her, we both love each other and we’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives.

Moving on
Since the split, the Irish model has moved on and found new love with cameraman, John Conroy who she has been dating since February. Despite admitting he was happy that she had moved on – he explained that he is of yet to find a new love.
“Never say never. I’ve got a lot of love; I’m that type of character.”
