Police have been called to Ashton Kutcher's home after receiving news of an intruder armed with a gun.
Los Angeles police rushed to the star's Hollywood Hills home today after receiving a call from a woman allegedly trapped inside the home at around 11am today.
It's not known whether Ashton was in his home at the time of the call
The LA Times reports that the caller was hidden in a closet and said that a potentially armed intruder had entered the Arrowhead Drive property.
She claimed that "several Russian men with weapons were in the house, robbing it".
Records show that the building belongs to Ashton Kutcher, but it's not clear whether he was home when the authorities arrived.
Detained
Los Angeles police officer Tenesha Dobine confirmed that three people had been detained at the property, but it wasn't immediately clear whether they were suspects or workers.
Helicopter images showed a man wearing a tool belt and a young blonde woman were removed from the property after a SWAT team was called.
However, it's thought that police are investigating whether the call might have been a hoax.
Hoax?
According to reports police were called to Miley Cyrus' Studio City home in August after a caller reported several people being held hostage following a shooting. The call was soon identified as a hoax once the authorities arrived on the scene.
Apparently this is a thing in America, and the practice is known as "swatting" – calling a response team to a star's home in the hopes of… well, we don't really know. But we're hoping Ashton is another high-profile victim of that rather than the more unpleasant potential outcome of this incident.
