Before they announced that they were reuniting, there were fears that Girls Aloud weren’t happy with one another at all. We hadn’t seen Nadine Coyle with any of the girls in yonks, and they all seemed to be so happy with their separate careers – Sarah Harding with the acting, Nicola Roberts with the solo career, Kimberley Walsh with the musicals, Nadine with the ignoring everyone and Cheryl Cole with the solo career and The X Factor (well, for a bit, at least).
So when they launched their comeback, it looked as if things were a bit TOO perfect. Cue, now, Cheryl Cole admitting that when they’re back on tour, she’ll probably have a tiff or two with ALL of her bandmates!
She told Glamour: “I’m sure I’ll be arguing with every girl in the group.” That said, she’s going to enjoy it all, as it’s what she’s known for so much of her young adulthood: “There’s such a comfort there with the girls. The pressure isn’t on just you.”
Cheryl says she'll still argue with the Girls
Although there’s relief there, not to mention strength in numbers, Cheryl added that she still sees herself as a solo star – much like Robbie Williams when he rejoined Take That for a little bit: “Let’s just say I don’t know if I would still want to be singing Love Machine in 20 years – if you know what I mean.”
We do sort of know what you mean, but we don’t think there’s anything wrong with a 49-year-old singing sexy songs. Madonna does it! Grace Jones did it! And, um….Hey Jude’s about sex, isn’t it?
Anyway. We’re sure that Cheryl and co are going to be well-behaved enough, and who knows, maybe things have changed since the early days – for one thing, Nicola smiles!
