A spokesperson said that Gary is to appear as himself in the show, and will “get friendly in an unexpected way” with Miranda.
Is anyone else getting visions of Miranda nervously giggling and going all flustered and clumsy for the entire half hour of the episode?
The scenes – set to be screened at the end of the year – aren’t the first time that Gary and Miranda have worked together. During this year’s Jubilee celebrations, they worked together.
But apparently he was very welcome on set and the rest of the cast responded to him like the proper star he is. A source told The Sun: “He has already filmed his scenes. The cast were thrilled he took part.”

They added that boss Simon Cowell might not be too happy about Gary’s involvement with the BBC as they are X Factor’s biggest rivals, with Strictly Come Dancing purposefully put on at the same prime-time weekend slot so it can pilfer X Factor’s viewers. A source said:
“Simon will want all the focus on The X Factor so he might not be too thrilled to know Gary is also on BBC1.”
