Just when things were starting to look up for troubled lovers Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, it seems like they might have hit another bump in the road.
After spending Thanksgiving together in London with R-Pattz’s family, the couple have decided to spend Christmas apart. Well after the family were left with a bitter taste in their mouths, Robert, 26, has decided he wants to have Christmas alone with his family in England instead of spending it with Kristen, 22.
As heat reported two weeks ago, Kristen was very worried about facing Rob’s family – including his mum Clare, dad Richard, and sisters Lizzy, 27, and Victoria, 29 – after being caught cheating on him with married Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Saunders in July.
Despite taking baby steps toward getting their relationship back on track since September, Kristen hadn’t seen the family since their three-month split, and it looks like her time with the family hasn’t healed things.
“The family were smiling at Kristen and looking totally at ease on the red carpet, [during the Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere] but back at the family home over the following weekend things were more difficult,” says our insider.
“They had a meal on Thanksgiving [22 November], and it was nerve-wracking for Kristen. She felt very uncomfortable and Rob’s sisters couldn’t be completely welcoming.
“It won’t go back to normal straight away, even if Rob has decided to try again.
Change of plan
The upshot of what sounds like the most awkward dinner ever is that Rob has decided to change the plans he’d made with Kristen to spend Christmas together.
“Rob’s mum wanted him to spend Christmas with them in London and, before their trip to the UK, that had been his and Kristen’s Plan. From London, they were going to fly to Mexico for New Year.”
But that’s all changed now.
“Rob’s family made it clear that they really want to see him over Christmas and, after the intense promotional tour for Twilight, Rob liked the idea of spending time alone with his family.”
Turkey for one, eh Kris?
