We’re all a little heartbroken that our Saturday nights won’t be spent with Dermot O'Leary shouting “Your Saturday night starts right here” for another year, but knowing that the second series of The Voice has started filming softens the blow an awful lot.
Though it’s not going to be on our screens until the New Year, we can’t wait to see what makes those mentors push their buttons. According to Beeb boss, Danny Cohen, the show’s second run is set to have “less live shows” and “more blind auditions and battle rounds.”
So while that might mean less Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates, it means more chair swivelling. And who can resist a chair swivel?
Despite the will they, won’t they return –ALL the same judges are back in those seats to find the next Leanne Mitchell, who was coached to victory by Welsh legend Tom Jones.
Price Tag hit maker, Jessie J, tweeted a picture of herself looking more glamorous than ever, being pampered and preened as she revealed that she was getting ready for the show.
But if it’s the style crown the 24-year-old is after, she’s sure to have some stiff competition from will.i.am, of Black Eyed Peas fame, whose personalised space suits and made up words (it must be an American superstar thing) certainly made the last series interesting, to say the least.
The first series of the talent show was the BBC’s biggest new entertainment series on record.
The channel took to Twitter to say: “So it’s Day 1 of filming. It’s like the first day back at school but with quadruple superstars instead of double geography. #TheVoiceUK”
And no one likes double geography. Unless will.i.am is taking the class. With Danny O’Donoghue as his teaching assistant.
