Before you call the NSPCC or RSPCA, Katherine Heigl is only joking about being overwhelmed by her gang of human and fur babies!
Speaking to People magazine, the actress has admitted that looking after such a big brood isn’t always easy but she loves family, “Yeah, I wouldn't recommend that,” the actress has said cheekily.
“I really love these dogs, but it's a lot with two little kids,” she adds.
Animal lover Katherine has become an activist since rescuing her second dog, and now has a pack of seven rescue pooches,
“The first dog I rescued was my dog Piper, who is pretty much the most amazing dog on the planet,” she says. “It was a chance thing. I was walking down the street in my neighborhood and there was a woman with these two beautiful puppies that had been rescued from somebody's backyard… I just thought, 'This dog is beautiful, and I can take another dog,' and so I did, and then the train started rolling.”
Katherine and her mother have since set up Just One, a company that sells pet products and uses the proceeds to help pay to spay and neuter animals.
“[My mother and I] just felt that we had gotten so much from our pets over the years, how much loyalty and love. They're kind of like my best friends, and I just thought we need to do something to help all of their kind. That was the impetus for Just One,” she says.
Awww. So cute. We’re off to ask the boss if we can adopt an office dog.
