Congratulations to Elton John and David Furnish on their second baby!
Congrats to Elton and David!

Forgive us, oh lords of gossip, as we, and many other people may we add, got it wrong about the newest addition to Elton John’s family.

If you might remember, ahem, PREVIOUSLY ON HEATWORLD, we said that it was just a rumour that they’d welcomed a new baby boy into their family.

But today it was announced that Elton and civil partner David Furnish are “overwhelmed with happiness” after becoming parents to a second son, and that he “completes our family in a most precious and perfect way.”

Now here’s how we got it wrong…whereas we had tweeted updates of Lily Rose Cooper's (Lily Allen’s) pregnancy, Elton and David’s surrogate mother is a secret so is quite anonymous, so we never saw any tweets about her pregnancy. And as neither Elton or David were pregnant, we couldn’t tell that they were expecting.

Also, a much simpler reason is that their very representatives told us: “reports that Elton and David have had a second child are false.”

See! We weren't being silly when we said the rumours were false!

Anyway, let’s not make it ALL about us. Sticking with Biblical names, they went for Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John (following Zachary Levi) and told Hello!: “Both of us have longed to have both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable.

"The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement."

Awwww! Congratulations to David and Elton!
