Lindsay Lohan has had her Hollywood feuds – Paris Hilton, Perez Hilton, Pitbull and, um…porn star James Deen on the set of new movie The Canyons. And now it’s Jennifer Lawrence who’s slagging her off. We know, nice, friendly Jennifer Lawrence…let’s take it back to the beginning…
Earlier this week, Jennifer Lawrence beat Meryl Streep to pick up the Best Actress award for her turn in Silver Linings Playbook. When she went to pick up her award, she exclaimed: “I beat Meryl Streep!”
Lindsay, who worked with the legendary billion-Oscar award winning actress on 2008’s A Prairie Home Companion, playing her daughter, has a soft spot for Meryl, and tweeted: “And no1 should ever mess with a legend, such as Meryl Streep”
Lindsay got the wrong end of the stick
Jennifer responded to the diss when on David Letterman’s chat show: “It was a quote from First Wives Club. Bette Midler was talking about a Golden Globe. Where she says ‘Look what it says! It says I beat Meryl!’
“I had no idea Lindsay Lohan would take it to ‘Twitterverse’ and all of a sudden I hate Meryl Streep. I wanted to make a public statement like, ‘You idiots, it’s a quote from a movie. And it’s Meryl Streep!”
Uh oh. Looks like a total miscommunication here, and a case of Lindsay perhaps rushing to Meryl’s defence too soon.
No word from Meryl on what she thinks about the situation, but we’re sure when she does say something it will be in a funny accent. She’s good at those.
