You know when you get a text from someone and you can’t quite tell the tone so need a little emoji to get across exactly what you mean? Well, we’re about 800% sure that the emojis to go with what Anne Hathaway’s said in a recent interview are all smiley faces and tongues in cheeks.
The Les Miserables star, who recently won a Bafta for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the hit musical, was on Jay Leno’s show to natter to him and promote the film ahead of the Oscars.
But she sounded pretty down in the dumps about her previous win, well at least if you look at the words without taking into account those imaginary smiley emoji: “I was so late that I had to run straight down to the end of the carpet and miss all the interviews.”
“And, the worst part was, I missed the fans. They're out in the cold and the rain and the sleet, and they booed me. I got booed, my dress ripped and I had the flu.”

She added that despite upsetting fans who’d waiting outside in the cold all day to see her, she eventually managed to have a decent time, with a little help from beardy Hollywood babe George Clooney: “But it turned out great. I got to hug George Clooney, and that's the whole point.”
She added cheekily: “And, oh yeah, I got a really amazing, prestigious award. That's pretty cool.”
So why was she late in the first place? Well, she had a bit of a mishap with her dress before she left her hotel room. The zip on her original dress broke, so after an attempt to sew her into it, she instead wore a Burberry number. And looked fantastic!
