So despite what everyone else is saying about Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift dating, it's official - they are NOT together.

We spoke to official spokesperson for Ed they told heatworld exclusively: "Ed is not dating Taylor. They are just friends."

According to reports, the I Knew You Were Trouble singer, 23, spent the majority of the evening before last week's BRIT Awards with Ed, 22, in a hotel room, which led the world to think they might be getting it on.

But trust us; they're not

E! News claimed "he stayed in (her) room, just the two of them, until around 4am."

But an insider close to Ed also tells us: "The idea of them getting together is ridiculous. He's about to embark on a 9-month US tour with Taylor so they are obviously close friends but that's all it is. The tour is a huge deal for Ed and a chance to really launch him in the States, he's really focussed and his relationship with Taylor is purely professional and platonic."

Ed and Taylor are just really good friends, with Taylor tweeting the A Team singer on his brithday recently.

"So. One of my favorite human beings on the planet turns 22 today. I hope @edsheeran has the most perfect show in LA tonight! HAPPY BDAYYYY."

To which he replied: "I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling pretty damn 22 right about now", which is a lyric from her new single 22.

Taylor and Tom

 

So Taylor's not romantically linked to Ed, but she's seems to have her eye on another singer/songwriter - Tom Odell.

On last Wednesday we were at the BRITs after party and we spotted Taylor deep in converstaion with the 22-year-old BRITs Critics' Choice award winner. The pair were hanging out with a big group of people but only had eyes for each other as they chatted intimately for 30 minutes. Taylor, 22, was staring intensely into his eyes the whole time.

 And then the blonde bombshells were spotted out on what looked suspiciously like a date.

Taylor and the Another Love star went out drinking in a Hackney, East London pub, last week before moving on to the Groucho Club in Soho.
