Yesterday we reported that former Eastender’s actress Martine McCutcheon had filed for bankruptcy. She has now taken to her Twitter account to thank her fans for their support.
During the height of her career, the star was reported to be earning up to £250,000 a year.
Tough times…
After it came to light that the 36-year-old has debts of over £180,000 – she relayed her gratitude to her well-wishers over the social networking site.
“I can't begin to express my love and gratitude for such kind and encouraging messages. I'm truly so touched. I love you guys. Thank you.”
Despite having a successful acting career, including a role in Love Actually, the actress once revealed that she loved to splash the cash.
“I love nice things – I consider Ralph Lauren sheets to be a necessity, not a luxury – but I’ve known what it’s like to be poor.”
“And yes, if it all ended tomorrow and I could never afford another Gucci bag, then I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got enough to be going on with.”
Martine’s discharge from bankruptcy is set to be in January 2014.
