Union J’s George Shelley could have ended up in MK1, but was told he didn’t fit in…

Union J’s George Shelley has revealed that after auditioning alone for the X Factor – before he went over into Union J, he was given the choice of joining rival group, MK1.

Imagine the horror…

Decisions, decisions

The band are currently performing on the X Factor’s UK tour – however, it all could have been very different for the 19-year-old – had he of been accepted into MK1.

“The media made out I was forced into [Union J], but I wasn’t. The X Factor producers wanted to put me in MK1, but Charlie, the female singer in that band, wouldn’t let me.”

“She didn’t think I’d fit in. So the producers said I could either go in GMD3 or Triple J.”

Speaking to We Love Pop magazine, fellow band member, Jaymi said that from day one – the curly haired singer was destined to become one of Union J.

“When they suggested it, it made sense as we’d even spotted George at boot camp and asked him to sing for us.”

“The rest of us had only known each other for about a month when Jaymi applied for the X Factor. So when George came along it wasn’t a big deal as we were literally all so new to each other anyway.”

Big things…

The lads are back in London to perform with other X Factor members this weekend and it’s fair to say, they are having an amazing time.

Taking to Twitter earlier today – Josh gushed about the experiences they are having.

“Wembley was INSANE dream come true to perform in the place ive dreamt of since a little boy!!! Thankyou so much to everyone who came!”
