Beyoncé has once again come under fire for her choice of animal-skin fashion.
Singer and animal rights campaigner Morrissey has blamed Beyoncé’s handbags for making the rhino a dying breed.
During a recent appearance at the Staples Centre in LA, the star who was there to perform his song ‘Meat is murder’ can be heard telling the audience:
“The rhino is now more or less extinct, and it’s not because of global warming or shrinking habitats. It’s because of Beyoncé’s handbags. So, God bless the rhino.”
The Halo singer was heavily criticised by PETA for her Superbowl outfit, which was made from python skin and panelled iguana.
The seemingly oblivious superstar didn’t let the criticism deter her from wearing his and hers matching furs with husband Jigga to President Obama’s inauguration.
She then further infuriated the animal rights organisation, by commissioning a pair of trainers made from ostrich, sting ray, anaconda and calf hair.
The wedge-style shoe are based on a design by Isabel Marant, but have been given a makeover by American company Perfectly Made Kicks. And it appears Bey might be following in her rapper husband Jay Z’s footsteps.
The company have previously customised a pair of trainers for the Clique rapper, which consist of calf, ostrich, python, crocodile, lizard, alligator, stingray and boa constrictor.
PMK boss Andre Scott (cleverly) said: “It’s legal. I don’t think animal rights campaigners like it very much but it’s legal.”
