Kate Middleton and Prince William's royal baby (or royal golden nugget, if you're Snooki) may not be due until this weekend, but that hasn't stopped anyone and everyone sending them gifts for the future Prince or Princess of Cambridge.
And now PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) have got in on the act, sending the Dke and Duchess of Cambridge a gorgeous faux-sheepskin blanket and a vegan hamper to celebrate the birth of their first child.
And it came with a note reminding the royal couple that, while most sheepskin blankets are products of animal suffering, the charity's take on the traditional baby gift has been made in a cruelty-free way. Throw in a pot of vegan caviar and faux gras (yup, it's a play on luxury pate fois gras) and you have the perfect ethical prezzy for the future King or Queen of the realm.
Mimi Bekhechi, PETA UK's associate director, said: "Using a cruelty-free baby blanket is a wonderful way to start a lifetime of compassion.
"We hope PETA's gift to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will inspire other parents to set an example of kindness for their families by choosing compassionately created items for their children."
We wonder if Kate Middleton and Prince William will swaddle the royal baby in this cute blanket when he or she arrives this weekend?
