The words pole dancing and Vanessa Hudgen’s are not the something we’d expect to hear in the same sentence, but we can safely say – ITS. TRUE.
Gone are the days of the all singing – all dancing child star famed for her hit role in High School Musical. Now a mature and dare we say sexier Vanessa Hudgens has arrived.
The American singer and actress who stars alongside rapper 50 cent and John Cusack in the new movie, was in London last night where she was joined by fans at the Apple store for a Q&A session.
She told guests that although her new role as a prostitute in her latest movie demonstrated her “growth” as an actress, filming SOME (surely they all were) of scenes was challenging.
“I always wanted to play a really heavy role. I remember being like 12 I think and being like 'I want to play a prostitute and do drugs.”
Nice, that’s every girls dream right?!
Vanessa said that those sexier scenes were most embarrassing: “It’s nerve-wracking that’s for sure. My heart was beating out of my chest while we filmed it.”
“She’s really just a young scared girl trying to get by. It’s nerve-wracking for sure. For this one scene the stage I was on was lower than where male film crew were situated. They were higher than me sitting on their stools, so it made it super awkward and intimate.”
Yes, we totes get it Ness!
Good girl gone bad…
The Disney Princess (aka good girl turned bad), 24, hasn’t turned her back on Disney altogether though. She admitted that she still watches Disney even now.
“I love Disney. I still watch Disney movies to this day. I still had such an amazing experience and I got to bring musicals to kids all over the world and it’s awesome, a really cool thing. It’s a legacy, I’m really proud of it.”
Well let’s face it, Vanessa IS rubbing shoulders with the A-listers now, gushing over her new found friendships, she described her new BFF rapper 50 cent as “Amazing”.
“He is just a complete sweetheart, who was willing to change his look as well. He was making jokes all the time.”
Ok, ok – don’t rub it in. So you hang out with cool rappers now…bothered? Ahem…
