Bear Grylls is famed for having a taste for danger (sometimes literally, as seen by him eating a raw snake on his show Born Survivor once). So we didn't bat an eyelid when we heard the TV star had built a huge slide on his private island, which will allow him and his family to happily whizz off into the sea in a pretty pacey fashion.
Too bad, then, that safety sticklers over at Gwynedd Council have launched an investgation into the specially-commissioned slide, which they feel is far too dangerous for humans to use.
Imagine if these guys had found out about Moon-Face's Slippery-Slip, eh?
Bear posted a photo of the slide on his Twitter account earlier this week, saying: "New slide at home on our island! You hit the water very fast!!!!"
Oops! You should have kept it a secret, Bear - the council aren't happy with you now. In fact Mr Wyn Williams, of Gwynedd Council, has revealed that an investigation has been launched even quicker than users of the slide hit the water:
"I am very concerned that an accident could happen on this slide, since there have been no discussions with planning or the health and safety department of Gwynedd Council."
Hmm, Bear IS a survival expert. We imagine he knows what he's doing. Fingers crossed they get this mess all cleaned up soon - there's only a few months of summer left, and that slide isn't going to project hapless funseekers into the sea all by itself...
