Ocean’s 13 is all very well, but hardcore Clooney fans prefer their George undiluted by an ensemble of co-stars. Like his new film Michael Clayton – which I saw last night – for example.
The suave hunk plays the Michael Clayton of the title, a lawyer who has lost his way in the moral maze, becoming a highly versatile “Mr Fixit” for a corporate law firm.
The brainy film (mucho concentration required, alert!) is like a classic conspiracy thriller from the 70s, and sees George tussling with dramas involving work, family and friends.
There’s barely a second when he isn’t on screen, including the end credits, which scroll up next to a close-up of his face. One way to get you to stay in your seat, I suppose!
