We always find it frustrating when we see the before and after shots of famous people who’ve been airbrushed – and now glossy fashion mags and advertisers could be forced to change their policy on digitally enhancing women’s figures, after the British Fashion Council launched an enquiry. The BFC first raised the issue back in December, and have today written to magazine editors amid fears that airbrushing celebs and models “perpetuates an unachievable aesthetic.” They’re calling on the fashion industry to govern the use of Photoshop-type technology and stop making stars look unrealistically perfect. Keira Knightley is one star who’s moaned about how silly she thinks airbrushing is, after posters for her movie Arthur showed her with a deep tan and large bust. It’s one hell of a thorny issue – but what do you think of it all? Do you think airbrushing is totally unnecessary or do you enjoy looking at the kind of perfect images glossy mags feature?
