Six months after Heath Ledger was found dead in a New York apartment, the investigation into his death has been officially closed. Over the past week, it was alleged that the US Attorney's Office was planning to enforce a subpoena against Mary-Kate Olsen in order to question her about Heath's death – but this has now been scrapped and the probe has been closed without any charges being filed. Mary-Kate was subpoenaed by a federal grand jury back in April, but her lawyer had been negotiating with the authorities ever since in an attempt to secure immunity for his client. Mary-Kate always denied having anything to do with the drugs Heath had taken, and said she had already provided "relevant information" to the investigators. Today's announcement concludes a very sad period for the showbiz world, as Dark Knight audiences the world over are being reminded of just what an amazing talent Heath really was by his stunning portrayal of The Joker.
