They're definitely one of our favourite ever celebrity couples, so we were very sad when we heard rumours that Sam and Lindsay's relationship is already in trouble. Just weeks after Lindsay finally admitted that she and Sam were an item, the pair have hit a rocky patch and, according to a friend, it's all because Lindsay has been "suffocating" her girlfriend. "Sam needs her space away from Lindsay," explains one friend, "Samantha DJ’ed three big parties around the Emmy weekend in Los Angeles, and Lindsay was practically on top of her for every minute of those gigs." As well as claims about the couple spending too much time together, Sam is also reported to be concerned about Lindsay's increasing partying, and is worried that she will slip back into her old ways. Additionally, the pressure of being the hot celebrity couple of the moment is also taking its toll on Sam, who is not used to being in the limelight. "Sam's known for being shy," explains the pal, "This high profile 'celebrity romance' is never been something Sam’s willing to embrace." The friend also alleges that the pair's recent getaway to Mexico was more about fixing their relationship than being romantic, and that they've been "bickering on a daily basis" ever since they got back. We all know how the pressures of any intense relationship can be tough, let alone with the world watching. We think Linds and Sam are a great couple, so we really hope they manage to resolve their issues.
