Gwyneth Paltrow did a Madonna when she upped sticks and moved across the pond to be with her English husband Chris Martin. And now, temporarily back in LA where she is filming, the actress has written her very own guide to life in the UK capital, after apparently being inundated (is anyone going to own up to that?!) with requests to give her views on life in Laaaahndon town. Now, as far as we know, Gwyneth doesn't have a huge range of experience when it comes to Camden pubs and the best Chinese takeaways in Peckham, so we're not quite sure who will find this guide particularly practical, but we'll humour her, shall we? Many of my friends, or friends of friends have asked me for, 'My London' ," she claims on her website Goop, before going on to list her favourite hotels as Blakes and The Berkeley (where the cheapest rooms are £245 a night!) – although she does at least admit that they're "on the pricey side". She also advises a visit to fancy-pants restaurants like J Sheekey, Locanda Locatelli and La Petite Maison. Um, we appreciate that a privileged few people do have money to blow on such pricey establishments, but her timing's a bit questionable, isn't it?! Does someone want to tell her there's a recession on? Still, she does also recommend Wagamamas for the more budget-conscious. How kind of her.
Someone shut her up!
