Danny Dyer is a man who doesn't mince his words, so when we met up with him yesterday to discuss the DVD release of his film Dead Man Running we couldn't resist asking his opinion on all this John Terry business. "He's been caught out for shagging his mate's missus," Danny exclaimed. "That's just another level, that is. That's a dog move. Wayne Bridge was best man at his wedding and all that. It's heavy shit." Does he think John Terry deserved to be sacked as England captain? "Yes," Danny says. "Something had to happen. Something had to give. They had to make an example of him, definitely." Despite all this, Danny told us he's still very much looking forward to the World Cup. "I'm very excited," he says. "There's nothing better than a summer when there's a World Cup on. It's been four f***ing years since I've been standing in a pub watching England." Does he think we stand a good chance? "Yeah, but I hope this John Terry thing won't effect what happens on the pitch," Danny says. "If we do get knocked out early, John Terry's gonna be the scapegoat so I bet he's s****ing himself." When we told Danny that the title of his new DVD reminded us of doing the Running Man, he laughed. Does he have a signature dance move he always pulls out? "Not really..." he told us sheepishly. "Since I got famous I get a bit embarrassed about dancing unless I'm proper drunk. It's not the sort of thing geezers do, really. Don't be too much of a good dancer and look like you're mincing about. I'd rather just sit there and get smashed."
Dead Man Running will be released on DVD on 1 March. You can pre-order a copy from Play.com or Amazon from today.
