The first Iron Man movie was massive critical and box office success, but the sequel has been getting some less favourable reviews in the US. Respected movie mags like the Hollywood Reporter blasted the film by saying, “Well, that didn't take long. Everything fun and terrific about Iron Man, a mere two years ago, has vanished with its sequel. In its place, Iron Man 2 has substituted noise, confusion, multiple villains, irrelevant stunts and misguided story lines.” Oh dear. Iron Man 2 hits cinemas here tomorrow, and Robert Downey Jr’s cocky and charismatic Tony Stark, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s long-suffering Pepper Potts, are joined by new cast members Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson to name a few. We’re holding out hope that there’ll be something enjoyable about this much-hyped follow up. Do you share our optimism, or will you be seeing Miley Cyrus in The Last Song instead?
