Simon Pegg tells us why we should all see his new film

So, just in time for Valentine’s Day comes brand new film, Paul – which is a rather LOL-inducing tale about a friendly alien named, er, Paul. The flick stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Bateman and Jane Lynch amongst others and Paul himself is voiced over by US star Seth Rogan. And the story sees Simon and Nick’s characters meet and befriend the little green alien whilst on a road trip through the USA.

Sounds a bit far-fetched maybe, but we are not exaggerating when we say we laughed a lot through the film and might have even crushed a bit over Jason Bateman (he’s pretty in his black suit). It was also quite fun counting the amount of alien-film references the boys had managed to get into their script. Oh and then lucky us even got invited to have an exclusive chat with Simon and Nick themselves – and we decided to ask them why you, the heatworld users should see the film.

Well firstly, the pair were on top form despite being tired (read: hungover) after their premiere celebrations the previous night and before we could even finish asking the question, Simon was proceeding to jokingly tell us off for calling you lot heatworld ‘users’. We’re not sure why – but hey, good to know he’s got your backs eh? Then he told us this is a film you shouldn’t go and see if, “you don’t like laughing. Or if you don’t like to smile.” Well we know a few people that might rule out, but on the whole, we reckon most of us like a giggle. Right? Right.

You’ll also be pleased to know the boys, who are also good mates, did not get sick of each other while filming. Particularly as they’d spent time writing the whole script together as well as being co-stars. But Simon insisted he hadn’t got sick of Nick in the last 18 years of being friends and he didn’t plan to while they made their first movie together. Thank goodness, because that could have been awkward.

Paul is out in cinemas nationwide on Monday.
