heatworld’s inner comic book geek is freaking out right now – we’ve just watched the new trailer for X-Men: First Class, and it is spine tingling good.
The latest film in the X-Men franchise is a reboot/prequel/whatever-you-want-to-call-it, set before the previous X-Men movies when Professor X and Magneto were young and still on good(ish) terms.
If comic book super hero stuff isn’t your thing, the trailer is still worth a watch because there are plenty of hotties to gaze at. The young Charles Xavier (Prof. X) is played by James McAvoy (swoon), while Michael Fassbender (yum) takes the role of Eric Lensherr (Magneto) – both look intense and broody and more than a little sexy through out the clip. The trailer also features some other well-known X-Men mutants in their youth.
Unlike the newly released trailer for Russell Brand's new comedy remake Arthur, after watching this trailer we don’t feel like we’ve just watched a condensed version of the entire film. So for anyone who needs it, here’s a quick plot synopsis;
"Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were the best of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X Men."
