We always knew the last ever Harry Potter film would be huge at the box-office. But even we are surprised to see it crash the All-Time UK Top 10 after only three weekends on release. Deathly Hallows Part 2 has taken a whopping £55.4m so far, overtaking the lifetime total of Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets to nab tenth place in the All-Time chart. Today, it will overtake Casino Royale (£55.6m) and move up to ninth place. But the final Potter film will have its work cut out to replace Avatar at the chart summit – James Cameron’s film earned a massive £94m at UK cinemas. A more realistic target will be to overtake The Philosopher’s Stone (£66.1m), the fifth-biggest film of all time, behind Avatar, Toy Story 3, Mamma Mia! and Titanic.
