Somewhere out in Hollywood, Renee Zellweger is sighing deeply and cramming another doughnut into her mouth. Why is she doing that, you ask? Because there’s going to be a THIRD Bridget Jones movie! Yay! It’s the news sad singletons and film fans alike have been waiting for.
Now, this makes us feel excited because we love Bridget, and worried because Edge Of Reason wasn’t exactly a chick-flick masterpiece. Let’s hope film three gets back on track.
Working Title – the production company behind some of the best girlie movies ever – confirmed the good news to Entertainment Weekly, but have yet to release any info about the plot.
Lucky for us, Colin Firth (swoon) who plays Mark Darcy (double swoon) previously told Access Hollywood how he thinks the story will shape up. “I can tell you that Bridget and Mark can’t have children, I think that’s the way it goes on. So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver [Hugh Grant's character] for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she’s left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?”
Now this is a plot we can see working. Not a Thai prison in sight.
Hands up if you’re looking forward to the next Bridget Jones movie…. It's certainly better than the news about the Dirty Dancing remake.
