Peter Kay: 'Phoenix Nights film script has been written'

All of you Peter Kay fans get ready to squeal with excitement! It looks as though there’s going to be a Phoenix Nights film!

The TV series, which was a big hit when it was released back in 2001...we feel old... was written by Dave Spikey, Peter Kay and Neil Fitzmaurice and provided us with pure comedy gold! After the success of The Inbetweeners Movie, it seems that Peter thinks a Phoenix Nights film would be just as popular and he has even been approached by producers. So, it’s a good job he has already written the script! Peter says,

"It's written, I've written it. It's done. They've even asked me, with this Inbetweeners film, if you want to make a film of it,"

As it turns out, Peter claims that he and fellow co-star Paddy McGuiness have even written two Christmas specials for their Phoenix Nights spin-off show Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere. He says that by the length of them they could be films, but the two funny-men got distracted by other work commitments and so the work has yet to hit our screens.

Peter wants to reassure anyone who thinks that the film won’t live up to the shows hype, by giving us all a little teaser...

“The fact that we've got Brian Potter in a wheelchair, and he's in a garage and a truck pulls up and he accidently gets caught in the grill and he goes about 400 miles on the front of a truck up the motorway!"

Sounds hilarious to us! Make it happen Peter!
