Elton John has suggested that Justin Timberlake should play him in an epic movie about his life. The warbling legend has said that he can't think of anyone better to play himself in what is expected to be an over-the-top Moulin Rouge style camp fest. We’re going to start queuing for tickets now.
Justin has previously played Elton before in his video for This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore way back in 2001, dressing up in some vintage 1970s gear. Please take a moment to watch this video, it’s one of the most amazing things the human race has ever produced.
Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall is said to have penned the feature length script and JT is known to be number one on Elton's wish list of top actors.
Justin has recently starred in Friends with Benefits and The Social Network after making the transition from bonafide pop royalty to legitimate movie star.
The movie is set to be produced by Elton and partner David Furnish, and will be a “jukebox musical” of the singers flamboyant life.
Elton told the LA Times that his “days on pop radio are over” and that he is happy to focus on other projects such as the upcoming biopic. He also has described his son Zachary as the “light of our lives” and that he and David have an "amazing personal life". Cute.
No word on what Justin thinks about potentially 'becoming' Elton again, but we'd love to see him in those stripy bellbottoms just one more time.
