Madonna has high hope for her new film W.E. The pop star-turned- director has admitted that she’d love for the film to be recognized with an Academy Award nomination.
“The Oscars, the nominations are coming out, and fingers crossed, I hope my movie gets nominated for something. I would be really grateful if it did,” Madge told MTV news.
What will the High Priestess of Pop do if her film is snubbed? Don’t worry, Madonna has a back up plan - there's a major live performance to focus on, “If it doesn't [get nominated], I got the Super Bowl – keep on going.”
That’s the spirit, Madge.
Of course, Madonna has already had awards success with W.E. The film picked up a win at the Golden Globes for Best Original Song, the track Masterpiece was co-written by Madonna, Julie Frost and Jimmy Harry.
That little victory Madonnas-Golden-Globes-win/">sparked off a short-lived feud with David Furnish, who’s husband Elton John was also nominated in the same category.
The Oscar nominations are out later today, so we’ll soon see if Madonna will get her wish. And if she doesn’t, at least she has her 24-year-old boyfriend’s shoulder to cry on!
