John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Glee's Jane Lynch will all lend their vocal talents to a brand new Disney animated movie called Wreck-It Ralph early next year, and guess what. Guess what. The trailer's out today.
Wreck-It Ralph is an animated movie with a retro gaming twist, as Ralph (first name: Wreck-It) – voiced by John C. Reilly – plays a typical arcade game baddie who decides to become a goodie. It's a classic baddie becomes a goodie tale, involving baddies, and goodies.
LOOK, THERE'S BOWSER! BOWSER!
Goodies
Chief goodie is Fix-It Felix (30 Rock's Jack McBrayer), who for 30 years has been fixing all the things Wreck-It Ralph wrecks. It's complex, keep up. Ralph gets tired of all that nonsense, breaks out of the confines of videogame world through a power cord, and meets a load of actul reformed baddies from classic videogames along the way. Think Tron, but in reverse, and slightly more insane.
He then does battle with alien invaders alongside Jane Lynch's Sergeant Calhoun, falls for Sarah Silverman's kart-racing heroine Vanellope von Schweetz and faces the dire fate that he unleashed upon the videogame world by busting on out of there.
NOT PICTURED: Bowser :(
Baddies
And cameos from classic videogames characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog, M. Bison from Street Fighter and Q*Bert from Q*Bert will also make nerds in the audience gasp and clap with delight.
Will he eventually prove himself to be a goodie and not a baddie? You're going to have to wait until February to find out, tyke. But probably, yes. Until then, you can enjoy the trailer, and wait just a couple of little months before this nostalgia-fest hits cinemas.
