The Spice Girls' documentary, Giving You Everything (BBC1, New Year’s Eve, 7pm) is going to be compulsive viewing, as it reveals loads about life as a Spice Girl. The most interesting stuff is definitely when the girls talk openly about fighting in the group. Mel C (who we always thought was quite hard) hints that Mel B bullied her, “There were times when Melanie was very mean to me. I suppose there were times when there was ganging up on people. It’s kind of playground stuff, but in quite an extreme situation, which is hard.” And Mel B’s defense for her behaviour? “My way of dealing with my pressure was to be as obnoxious as possible and slightly angry.” But that’s not all, oh no. Here’s what Emma and Geri have said about band squabbles: “I remember being really shouted at by Geri a quite a few times,” reveals Emma. “Sometimes she would think that everything she said and did was how it should be, and of course that’s not true.” Geri adds: “I know I probably upset them at times. I think it's because I’m the eldest one, I automatically thought I knew what the right thing was. Sometimes maybe I was being too bossy.” Seriously, we cannot wait to see this documentary in full!
