It's 2008 already, but it's good to see that some things never change – oh yes, Mariah is still as mad as ever. The warbling songbird has anounced that she wishes she had one of those mechanical voice thingies, like fellow superbrain and internationally renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. Apparently poor Mimi can't speak for two days prior to any performance, in order to protect her precious vocal chords. "I need Stephen Hawking's voice machine for when I'm on vocal rest," she says. "I'd like a machine where I can just think and it comes out in a robot voice – that would be amazing." Hmm, indeed. We reckon it might be more amazing if the machine did all her thinking for her too... or transformed her voice so that only bats and dogs could hear her. But that's a bit unfair on the bats and dogs. Oh, butterfly-brained Mariah Mimi, we heart you.
