It’s been confirmed that Amy Winehouse will be singing at tomorrow night’s Brit Awards – and organisers say she’s sounding “absolutely great” in rehearsals. "We are just thrilled to have her appearing at the ceremony,” says Brits chairman Ged Doherty (Pete’s dad… not really). “At times it has been a difficult year for Amy but what has never been in doubt is that she is a real talent. We think that her performance will be one of those Brit 'moments' and it's part of a really strong line-up. She is someone that gets people talking and I think her absence would have really been felt if she hadn't been there. Ultimately the ceremony is about the music of 2007 and there is no doubt, regardless of her troubles with drugs, that she was the sound of last year.” It’s thought that Amy will perform her hit Valerie – although Mark Ronson, her collaborator on the Zutons cover, is currently supposed to be performing with Adele on the night.
