We’ve always had a soft spot for the lad, so we were super excited when we heard Darius was going to be starring in the new West End version of Gone With The Wind. OK, so he didn’t exactly get rave reviews – and heatworld didn’t actually get off it’s arse and go and see the play itself – but we really had high hopes for him as a musical star. But, after just 79 performances, it’s been revealed that the show is closing. Bookings were taken for the £4.75million play up to September, but the final performance will be on June 14. One of the major criticisms of the show was its length, at four hours long (you could see Sex And The City TWICE in that time!), but critics also said it "looked spendthrift and threadbare". Spendthrift? On a £4.75million budget? Er, OK. Anyway – we're sure we haven’t seen the last of Mr Danesh – he is the king of the comeback.
Bad news for Darius...
