It’s just been revealed that the Spice Girls’ reunion tour was one of the highest-grossing ever – and the London dates they played top the list of concerts that made the most money in the past year anywhere in the world. The girls’ 17 sell-out shows at London’s O2 Arena made a massive £16.5 million but, given that some concert venues in other parts of the world had empty seats, it might seem surprising that the girls did so well. However, the London shows sold out in one minute when tickets went on sale (according to business magazine Forbes, who conducted this research), so you can see how it all adds up. Prince comes in second (but is several million behind the girls), followed by Bon Jovi, The Police and Justin Timberlake. Hmm, when Posh hears about this, do you think she’ll have a rethink about her plan to never sing again...?
Spice tour made a fortune!
