We were all impressed with how amazing Britney looked at the MTV Video Music Awards, and now her mum has spoken out about how proud she is of her daughter as well. "I looked at her on stage and realised I finally had her back," confessed Lynne Spears after the awards. Brit's mum has also talked for the first time about why she thinks her daughter's life spiralled out of control so rapidly. In her new book, Through The Storm, Lynne writes, "Having two children within a year of each other would be overwhelming for any woman. She had post-natal depression." Lynne also claims that Britney's heartbreak over K-Fed and the pressures of her career contributed to her downfall. Lynne writes, "I must admit I probably never would have had the courage to commit her to a psych ward, but it ended up being the turning point for her." The mum-of-three says that she was cut out of Britney's life after trying to get her daughter to enter rehab, and that the troubled star refused to answer her calls or see her. Since Britney has received treatment, however, mother and daughter are close again, with Lynne saying, "She is my fighter, my sweetheart." Looking at Britters now, it's almost hard to believe that there was every anything wrong. Isn't it nice when things turn out so well?
