The showbiz world is still reeling from the shock news that Travis Barker and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) were involved in a plane crash that claimed the lives of four people – and the tributes have been flooding in. Travis' ex-wife Shanna Moakler, who has recently got back with her man following their 2004 divorce, has flown to Columbia to be by the drummer's side in hospital, and was photographed in floods of tears. She has since released a statement saying, "There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for the outpouring of love and support we have received during this very difficult time. We can only ask for prayers as we heal and mourn the loss of our dear friends who we considered part of our family. Our lives will be changed forever." Pals of the couple say she is doing everything she can to lift Travis' spirits. "She's there for him and will be there for him as long as it takes. She loves him," one explained. In addition, DJ AM's ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore has also rushed to the injured star's side. Both crash victims are said to be in a "critical" but "stable" condition, and are receiving treatment for burns. Official reports are now claiming that the crash was caused by a tyre blowout, as was originally thought, but that it is unusual for an accident of this type to end this badly. Debbie Hersman, of the National Transportation Safety Board in Washington, said: "The cockpit voice recorder went on for two hours, but the last 18 minutes were most pertinent, because those words proved that it was a tyre blowout that [may have] caused the crash. We are doing a lot more investigating because, while it is not uncommon to blow a tyre, it is rare for something like that to end in a fatal accident." We will bring you any new updates as we have them. heatworld's thoughts remain with the families and friends of the victims.
