The case involving Britney Spears driving without a valid license was due to be resolved yesterday, but the judge was forced to send the jury away for more deliberation after they failed to reach an unanimous decision on the star's fate. After two hours of discussions, the jury ended up being split 10-2 yesterday, with no final decision being reached. In order for a conviction to be brought against the young mum, the guilty vote must be unanimous. It is not known at this stage whether or not the jury were leaning towards a guilty or a not guilty verdict, but if she is found guilty later today, Britney could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. The trouble all started after Britney was found to be driving in the State of California with a Louisiana license and, although she has now got herself the right license, this is strictly frowned upon in America. Britney's dad Jamie spoke up for his daughter during the proceedings, telling the court that Brit considers Louisiana to be her real home, and that she is planning on moving back there as soon as possible. He also hinted that the family's next plan is to battle for full custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James, telling the court, "Louisiana is her home. She was born and raised there. We plan to travel back when we can with the kids." Hmmm, we wonder what K-Fed will have to say... All this legal drama is the last thing Britney needs at the moment, we only hope it can be resolved with the minimum trouble. The case is due to resume later this afternoon, so we'll keep you posted on any developments.
