Through a lot of Britney's more turbulent times, there was a lot of speculation about the singer's relationship with her mum Lynne. Thankfully, over the past few months, Britney and Lynne have managed to heal the rift between them, and Lynne has been instrumental in helping get her daughter back on track. This morning Lynne opened up in an interview with Lorraine Kelly on LK Today, and explained just how Britney came back from rock bottom. Asked how they became so distant in the first place, Lynne explained, "There comes a time in a young adult's life when they wanna live their own life and momma and daddy, you know, they're not cool anymore." Lynne then went on to admit that alarm bells did start to ring for her after Britney's Vegas wedding to Jason Alexander, and that it really did turn out to be the start of her daughter's downfall. Asked if she'd found it difficult watching Britney break down and eventually shave her head, Lynne visibly tensed up and almost tearfully replied, "Yes, it was." Brit's mum cheered up when she started talking about how great the star is with her kids, describing her as a "fun" and "affectionate" mum. Lynne has total confidence that Britney's recent comeback is going to be huge, telling Lorraine Kelly, "Britney's ready to get started again, she's in her element. Everything's going to be fine – you just wait and see!" Yay! We're so relieved that everything is working out for Brit now, and we can't bleedin wait for The X Factor performance this Saturday.
