Unless you live on the moon (and if you do, how the HELL are you reading this?), then you'll be aware of a little celeb shindig which took place in Dubai at the weekend. The bash, which cost a reported £10million *coughs up tea*, saw stars such as Rhys Ifans, Lindsay Lohan, Charlize Theron, Robert De Niro and Mischa Barton celebrate the opening of the luxurious Atlantis hotel at the Palm Jumeriah island resort. With Kylie performing on stage, miles of fireworks and enough champagne for even the most bubbly-loving of stars, we were just a teensy bit jealous, to say the least. Well, that was until we found out what happened to some of the celebs who jetted over there. Poor old Lily Allen and her new BFF Agyness Deyn were subjected to a strip-search when they arrived in Dubai, and it was NOT a pleasant experience. A disgruntled Lily said afterwards, "I was strip-searched, which was so nice as soon as you arrive. I knew I didn’t have anything on me so I wasn’t worried. I wasn’t paranoid, just terrified." Blimey! Lily went on to describe the ordeal, saying, "It was really scary as they didn’t tell you what they were doing, they just said, ‘Take off trousers’ and I was like, ‘Ahhh, help!'" Lily's model pal Agyness was also subjected to a search, and she admitted, "It was really traumatic. It wasn’t the best experience in the world, but it is their culture and you just have to respect it." Dubai does have an extremely strict anti-drugs policy, but we doubt poor Lily and Agyness were expecting this. We hope the party turned out to be very good indeed.
